About the event

David Bianculli has been a TV reviewer for the National Public Radio program Fresh Air with Terry Gross since 1987 and has written for a multitude of magazines and newspapers, including New York Daily News, TV Guide, The New York Times, Rolling Stone and others. He is a professor at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, where he teaches television studies. He has written four books, including The Platinum Age of Television: From 'I Love Lucy' to 'The Walking Dead', and is currently working on his fifth book.

 

Overview of session: This two-hour Evolution of Quality TV masterclass will discuss examples and chart some key moments in the evolution of American fictional television. David will talk about examples from different eras, from the golden age of live TV in the 1950s to more recent examples from premium and streaming TV services.
